my story
- Well, I’m not sure where to begin. My name is Kazuki, although most of my peers call me The Wolf. It’s corny, I know. I was born here in LA, in the heart of it all. My father was a local Japanese boxing legend who served in Vietnam, and my mother was a Chinese national who immigrated here before working as an ER nurse. Both of them died not long after I was born, leaving my pathetic ass to wander the streets and fight to survive. I was a good vagrant, I only caused trouble for the bad folks in the community and I never took advantage of the kindness of others. Me and a group of homeless kids basically ruled the streets of Chinatown, much to the chagrin of the police and crooks who roamed the streets with us. I miss those times. The summer before I turned 18, things rapidly changed, I became a man, and a certain event in my life got rid of everything I had established as a kid. No friends, no family, and no future. After getting the ultimatum of a lifetime, I enlisted in the Army, where I served in the 82nd Airborne. Me and 14,000 other dumb recruits dropped into the Persian Gulf, where we distinguished ourselves with acts of valor; or so they told us after the war ended. My time in the military is not something I’ll discuss online, let alone with people I don’t even know, but I don’t regret it. Anyways, fast forward one short one-sided war, I came back home and I joined the police as part of the ultimatum I made years earlier. I spent a few years in a patrol car, arresting thieves, rapists, and dealers. Eventually my talent was recognized by the powers that be and I made detective, with an entire division dedicated solely to what I specialize in. I work with the abnormal, and if you believe me; the paranormal as well. I was born for this job, and I doubt there’s anyone out there who can do it better than me. “Why?”, you may ask. Well, I am simply different from your average donut eating, lazy, scum detective in ways I can’t explain. But, spend a little bit of time with me and maybe you’ll figure it out for yourself. I wouldn’t hold your breath for a meeting with me though. Because heaven knows, wherever I go, there’s always trouble.
